A gas automatic shut-off valve is a device installed on low-pressure gas system pipelines. It can automatically close when the pipeline gas supply pressure experiences underpressure or overpressure, and must be manually reopened, without the need for electricity or other external power. The shut-off valve installed at the connection between the end of the pipeline behind the gas meter and the hose connecting to the cooker should have a pressure-loss closing function.

What functions does an automatic shut-off valve have?

Automatically closes when gas supply is cut off or underpressurized

Gas is delivered to households through pressure regulating equipment and pipeline networks. Maintenance, emergency repairs, and gas replacement are frequent occurrences.

Pipeline freezing, floods, or fires damaging the pipeline network can all cause a sharp drop in household pressure or even a complete gas cutoff. When gas supply is restored, leaks are prone to occur. In such cases, the automatic shut-off valve can automatically cut off the gas supply, preventing gas accidents.

Overpressure Automatic Closure

Aging or malfunctioning pressure regulating equipment, as well as maintenance and emergency repair operations, may cause overpressure gas supply.

Severe overpressure can lead to pipe disconnection, flame lift-off, and trigger major safety accidents. When the safety threshold is exceeded, the automatic shut-off valve can automatically close and cut off the gas supply. Gas use can only be restored after the fault is resolved, thus helping to detect safety hazards in advance and prevent accidents.

Overflow Automatic Closure

Common incidents include severe aging and damage to flexible hoses, hose咬破 (chewing by rodents), and fires igniting hoses. Accidents such as hose detachment or disconnection (due to human or mechanical causes) also occur occasionally, which may lead to major gas accidents.

The automatic shut-off valve can automatically close and cut off the gas supply to ensure user safety.

Air Tightness Testing for Indoor Gas Pipelines and Stoves

In the past, air tightness testing of indoor pipeline systems was difficult to operate. Now, the automatic shut-off valve has solved this problem, enabling convenient and accurate detection of minor leaks in indoor gas pipeline systems.

Simply close the valve at the front end of the tested area and observe whether the shut-off valve's lifting knob is sucked back.
