Precautions for the Use of Underfloor Heating Manifolds

       

       These precautions apply to manual and auto-thermostatic underfloor heating manifolds made of brass/stainless steel for underfloor heating systems (including those equipped with electric actuators and flow meters).

       1. During the initial water filling of the system, slowly open the main water inlet valve and bleed air using the "low flow rate, slow pressure boost" method. Open the branch valves and the air release valves on the top of the manifold one by one, and close them only when no air bubbles are present in the discharged water, to prevent air blockage from affecting water circulation.

        2. Control the supply water temperature during operation. The inlet water temperature of the underfloor heating system should not exceed 60℃. Auto-thermostatic manifolds stabilize the water temperature at 40-50℃ via the thermostatic cartridge. Over-temperature operation is strictly prohibited to avoid damaging the pipes and the sealing parts of the manifold.

        3. When manually adjusting the branch valves, operate them slowly to prevent sudden water pressure changes caused by abrupt opening or closing, which may damage the valve cartridges (e.g., globe cartridges, ball valve cartridges). For auto-thermostatic manifolds, do not manually force the electric actuators to move, as this may damage internal components.

        4. Regularly check the readings of the flow meters during operation. If the flow rate of a certain branch is significantly low, promptly inspect the pipeline for blockages. In case of water seepage or dripping at the joints, immediately close the main valves, stop the system operation and conduct maintenance.

        5. If the system is out of service for a long time in winter, completely drain all water from the manifold and pipelines to prevent freezing and cracking at low temperatures. If draining is not possible, maintain the system in a micro-pressure operation state (pressure ≥ 0.05MPa) and activate the anti-freezing protection function (for auto-thermostatic manifolds).
